
Protest rally of teachers and employees demanding 20% notification of interim government rejection of 5% notification in Joypurhat

The District College Teachers’ Welfare Association held a human chain and protest rally in Joypurhat to demand immediate issuance of notification of 20% housing allowance, Tk 1,500 medical allowance and 75% allowance of employees and to protest against the police attack on the agitating teachers and employees.
October 19 (SunThe protest rally was held at Zero Point Panchu intersection of the city around 12 noon). About three hundred teachers and employees of the district took part in this slogan ‘Come forward to save endangered education’.
At that time, District College Teachers-Employees Welfare Association President ABM Mucha, BNP Central Co-Organizing Secretary Obaidur Rahman Chandan, District BNP Joint Convenor MA Ohab, Organization General Secretary Abdul Momin Mondal, TreasurerAli Hasan Mukta, organizing secretary Bidyut Biswas, executive member Mehnaz Parveen and others spoke.
The speakers said that the peaceful protest of the teachers was brutally attacked, which was very sad.
