Rally and discussion held on the occasion of World and National Statistics Day-2025 in Mymensingh

World Statistics Day and National Statistics Day-2025 were celebrated in Mymensingh on Monday, October 20, with the theme “Quality Statistics for All”. On the occasion of the day, a colorful rally was taken out in front of the Divisional Commissioner’s office in the morning. At the end of the rally the various roads of the city circled the districtArriving in the administrator’s conference room, the meeting was held.

Mymensingh Divisional Commissioner Md. Mokhtar Ahmed was present as the chief guest in the discussion meeting organized jointly by Mymensingh Divisional Commissioner’s Office, District Administration and Divisional and District Statistics Office. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Reza Md Golam Masum Pradhan presided over the event.

The chief guest said in his speech that proper planning of development andThere is no substitute for reliable and standardized statistics in policy making. Statistics play an important role in every aspect of social, economic and administrative development of a country. Information is power so the process of collecting, storing and using information needs to be more modern and technology-based.

He also said that through accurate and standardized statistics, we are not only progressing development, but also the picture of people’s quality of life and overall welfarecan be accurately determined. For this reason, coordination between all public and private institutions should be increased.

Officials of various government departments, teachers, students and media workers were present in the said rally and discussion meeting.
