BGB raid in Panchari seized a large amount of illegal golkatha

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized a large quantity of illegal golkat from Shantipur area of ​​Panchari upazila of Khagrachari. On Tuesday (21 October 2025) around 5 pm, a special patrol team of 3 BGB Logang zone conducted the operation.

JCO-Naib Subedar. The patrol team led by Tushar Hossain raided the Ultachhari Shantipur areaA large quantity of wood of different species including teak, gamari and chapalish was seized.

Later, the recovered timbers have been handed over to the forest department in the regular process, said the BGB authorities.

According to BGB sources, regular operations of BGB are continuing to prevent illegal timber smuggling, infiltration and smuggling in border areas to protect forests and environment.

On the other hand, the local residents are at the BGB to stop the illegal deforestation in the border areareferred to such activities as “laudable initiatives”.
