Mobile court raid in Trishal fines four pharmacies for selling illegal drugs

A traveling court has fined four pharmacies in Mymensingh’s Trishal for selling drugs at extra cost, prohibiting sale and stocking expired drugs. The operation was conducted on Monday (October 20, 2025) afternoon near Sutia Bridge in the municipal area.

Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate of Trishal Upazila conducted the operation. A team of Drug Super, Mymensingh and Trishal Police Stations were present in it.
During the raid, it was seen that medicines were being sold at excessive prices in the respective pharmacies. Besides stocking and selling large quantities of expired and prohibited sample drugs.was being done—which posed a direct threat to public health.

The mobile court filed four separate cases under Sections 40(b) and 40(c) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 2023. The fines are collected from the pharmacy owners immediately.

The executive magistrate conducting the operation said, playing with people’s lives will never be tolerated. Against sale of expired, prohibited or adulterated drugsThis campaign will continue in the future as well.”

The local people applauded this campaign. According to them, if such strict action of the administration is regular, the trade of adulterated drugs will be stopped in Trishal and surrounding areas and the health protection of common people will be ensured.
