Indian goods worth crores seized in BGB operation in Feni

Abul Hasnat Tuhin Feni:-Indian sarees, ready-made garments and cows worth more than Tk 12 million were seized in a raid on the border of Fulgazi and Parashuram upazilas of Feni (4BGB Feni).

Lt. Col. Mosharraf Hossain gave this information in a press conference at 4th BGB headquarters on Saturday (October 25) morning.

He said, on the basis of secret information on Friday (24 October) nightSeveral search operations were conducted to prevent smuggling of battalion headquarters and BOP in various border areas bordering Feni’s Fulgazi, Parashuram and Zorarganj police station of Chittagong district. A large quantity of Indian sarees and ready-made garments along with Indian cattle were seized in the raid. The estimated market value of seized goods is 1 crore 20 lakh 5 thousand 125 taka.

According to BGB sources, earlier, BGB was under North East RegionThe units conducted anti-smuggling operations in the border areas in 2024 and seized smuggled goods worth Tk 754 crore 15 lakh 5 thousand 782 and 424 accused. Since January 2025, anti-smuggling operations have been conducted in the border areas and 370 accused have already been seized with a total of 709 crores 94 lakhs 52 thousand 264 rupees worth of smuggled goods. Out of this 4,202 cows 1,286 buffaloes, 2,569 mobiles, 2,06,139 cu.ft.Stone, 21,235 cubic feet of sand, 11 sand machines, 11,46,318 kg of sugar, 1,53,129 kg of cumin, 82,710 pieces of sarees, 7,419 vehicles.

Meanwhile, in the current year 2025, in the anti-narcotics operation conducted by the unit under Sarail Region, 78,254 bottles of alcohol, 24,763 bottles of Phensidil, 2,80,144 pieces of yaba, 9,086 beer cans, 14,644 kg of ganja were seized.
