Giving memorandum to Chittagong District Commissioner

A memorandum was submitted to Chittagong District Commissioner on the initiative of Harualchhari Public Interest Protection Citizens Committee to protest against the inclusion of Harualchhari Union in the proposed North Fatikchhari Upazila without public hearing.
The memorandum mentions,
Harualchhari Union is an integral part of Phatikchari’s history, tradition and identity. Harualchhari flows through the chest of the unionFatikchari canal – after the name of which the entire upazila is named “Fatikchari”. To separate the rich history-tradition Harualachari from Phatikchari is to cut the roots of history and identity.”

Also currently Harualchhari Union is located only 6 to 07 km away from Fatikchhari Upazila Sadar. This distance with Narayanhat, Baganbazar is 15 and 30 km respectively. We are in every field of administrative, educational, business and medical servicesAll activities are centered in Fatikchari Upazila. As a result, the HQ’s relationship with the people is long-standing, close and practical.”

The MoU also mentions that the issue may be considered if it is warranted to set up headquarters at a nearby location.
