CNG Syndicate in Camp: Rohingya Drivers Reign in Irregularity-Corruption

There have been allegations of gross irregularities, corruption and extortion in the CNG transport sector inside Rohingya camps in Ukhia and Teknaf upazilas of Cox's Bazar. Hundreds of unauthorized CNGs are illegally plying with the connivance of APBN despite the limited number of auto-rickshaws being allowed by RRRC.doing—most of which are driven by Rohingyas and owned by Rohingyas.
Camp-11, 12 and 18 have only 11 approved CNG from RRRC. But in reality there are 28 to 29 CNGs running by the police and charging Rs 15,000-35,000 per month. Among them there are significant numbers of Rohingya drivers and Rohingya-owned CNGs. Rohingya Alam and Yashin are the residents of Camp-129 owned CNGs are running regularly. It is alleged that Alam married a Bengali girl and lived illegally with a local identity, but no national identity card was found.

28-29 CNGs are running in Camp-11,12,18, where 10-11 CNGs are allowed by RRRC.
