
Human chain in protest against the beating death of Delbar Molya in Mauli
“I want justice for the murder of my father” – Anna Parveen, daughter of the deceased
A human chain was organized by the local residents to protest the beating death of Delbar Molya (85) of Ward No. 6 of Mauli Union of Kalia Upazila of Narail.
Hundreds of people participated in this hour-long program at Chanderchar Bazar intersection on Friday (24 October 2025) at 3 pm. Banners in hand, and shouting sloganswas the whole area. The speakers demanded quick arrest and exemplary punishment of the killers.
Speakers in the human chain said that Delbar Molya was an honest, hardworking and innocent man of the area. He was publicly beaten to death, which deeply hurt the human values of the society. Many of the accused are yet to be arrested after the killings, which has caused concern in the area.
The victim’s daughter Anna Parveen, a social worker, spoke at the human chainMd. M.S. Abdullah, local youth leader Ripon Sheikh, and religious figure Maulana Karimul Islam.
Anna Parveen said in an emotional voice, “My father was publicly beaten to death in front of the house in the dark of night. He did not have enmity with anyone, he was loved by everyone. But even after the murder, many criminals have not been caught. We are now seeing that some people are setting fire to their own houses, so that the truthis hidden I request the administration — you should reveal the truth, bring the real killers to justice, and not victimize innocent people.”
Md. M.S. Abdullah said, “Delbar Molya was an ideal man of our area. The brutal way in which he was killed cannot be accepted in any way. We strongly demand from the administration that everyone involved in this murder should be quickly arrested and punishedLet it be covered. We are peaceful people, but we will not remain silent unless there is justice.”
Ripon Sheikh said, “We can see that now some evil gangs in the area are trying to confuse the situation for their own interests. Even a group of people are trying to create instability in the area by setting fire to their own houses. But this area was always peaceful, people lived together. We demand from the administration, who are suchThey are creating confusion by arranging drama, they should also be brought under the law. No one should take this opportunity to harass innocent people.”
Maulana Karimul Islam said, “Islam is a religion of peace. Taking a stand for wrongdoing or wrongdoing—both are major sins. By the killing of Delbar Mola, not only a man was killed, but also the sense of justice of the society was damaged. Now someone is creating confusion by setting fire to his own house, which is even more reprehensible.We want the administration to uncover the truth and bring the real criminals to justice and protect innocent people.”
The speakers also said that justice for the killing of Delbar Mola should be ensured quickly and the administration should take a more active role in maintaining the atmosphere of peace and harmony in the area.
At the end of the human chain, the speakers expressed their deepest sympathy to the family of the deceased and said that until the justice of this incident is done, the local people are united.The movement will continue.
It is to be noted that last August 25 (Monday) at around 8 o’clock in the night, two sides clashed on Ismail Molya’s wife Khadija on the side of the road half a kilometer west of Chanderchar Bazar. Delbar Molya was seriously injured. He was first admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital when his condition worsened after receiving treatment at Chanderchar Bazar. He died under treatment at 1 am on September 1.
