
In Dumki Upazila, under the initiative of Jubo Dal, Pirtala Bazar Bharani canal is cleaned.
In order to preserve the cleanliness of the environment and reduce the suffering of the local people, in Dumki Upazila of Patuakhali district, the youth group has embarked on a cleaning campaign for the Pirtala canal. On the occasion of the foundation anniversary of the organization, this activity was conducted on a long stretch from Dumki AK High School area of Pirtala canal of the upazila to Pirtala market on Wednesday (October 29) at 11 am.Former president of Upazila BNP in the clean-up campaign. The participants in the campaign voluntarily removed garbage, polythene, plastic and various types of waste accumulated in the canal. In this the local residents also participated spontaneously and cooperated.
Former member secretary Ripon Sharif, who was in overall supervision of the cleanliness campaign, said that the martyred President ZiaurThis Pirtala Canal cut by Rahman’s own initiative cannot be allowed to remain immobile like this. Thanks to all who helped in this work.
Politics is not only about power but should also work for the welfare of the people. Through this initiative to clean the canal, we want to increase environmental awareness and involve the young society in social service work.” On the other hand, the locals complain that the Pirtala canalDue to lack of management for a long time, the water flow stopped and the surrounding environment was spoiled by bad smell. In this situation, they expressed relief that the cleaning campaign was started by the initiative of the youth group and called for the continuation of this trend. President of Pirtala Banik Samiti, businessman Bashir Uddin Howladar said, “If this canal is clean, not only the environment but also the surroundings of the market will be beautiful. This initiative of the youth group deserves praise.” LocalResident Nazrul Islam said, we are hopeful that this canal will get back to its old form with the initiative of Jubodal, we residents are very happy with their activities.
Those concerned said that Dumki will be a clean and livable upazila if such activities are continued regularly.
