Two friends died while taking bath

Two teenage friends died after taking bath in Rajshahi.
Two teenage friends died tragically after taking bath in Baral river at Charghat in Rajshahi. The accident took place on Monday (November 3) around 1:30 pm near the source of Baral river in Charghat upazila headquarters.

The deceased are Rihan Islam (17) son of Israfil Islam and Mahid Hossain (17) son of Sajjad Hossain of Thanapara area. Both are SSC this yearTook the exam and failed in one subject.

According to local sources, Rihan and Mahid used to spend time together regularly. On Monday, like other days, they took a bath after playing football on the river bank with some friends. Baral river is currently low in most places but there are deep holes in some places.

Mahid jumped in to save Rihan when she fell into deep water during the bath. But he also sinks under the water.When the accompanying friends started screaming, the locals rushed and started the rescue operation. The members of the fire service also reached the spot after receiving the information.

After trying for two and a half hours, the diving team and locals rescued both of them and took them to Charghat Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty there declared them dead.

Charghat Fire Service Station Officer Ariful Islam said, “We rushed to the spot after receiving the newslet’s go It took some time to start the rescue operation as the diving team came from Rajshahi Sadar. Later they were rescued and taken to the hospital where doctors declared them dead.”
