Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officer Sharmila Sharmin has held a motivational meeting in Barisal block of Palashbari upazila of Gaibandha district to increase oil crop cultivation and expansion of new varieties.

Today, November 11, Tuesday, Sarbangavaduria, Bhavanipur Dublagari, West Gopinathpur village farmers were encouraged to increase oil crop mustard plantation and expand new varieties.This Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officer is conducting the motivational meetings and yard meetings.

After harvesting Ropa Aman paddy, the land remains fallow for a long time, after which the farmer plants Boro paddy. So after harvesting the saplings, plant BorodhanIf mustard is grown as an additional crop without leaving the land fallow, the oil shortage will be met and the farmers will benefit. He also said that this year he has set the target of planting oil crops in his block mustard 38ha sunflower 1ha soybean 1ha. I am going door to door to convince the farmers to achieve the target.
