Maternal death due to wrong treatment in Kaliakore

The death of a woman named Pinki Malo (18) has been reported after undergoing surgery at Dewan Digital Hospital located in Bypass area of Kaliakair Upazila of Gazipur. The family and local residents alleged that the tragic death occurred due to the wrong treatment and extreme negligence of the hospital authorities.
The deceased is the daughter of Pintu Malo of South-East Majhipara of Boali Union of Pinki Malo Upazila and the same.Wife of Sudeep Malo, son of Babu Malo of Raghunathpur Madhyapara, Union. Their marriage is only one year old.
According to the family of the victim, Pinky was taken to the hospital last Thursday in a healthy condition. But he was taken to the operation theater without any preliminary examination. After some time the newborn was taken out alive but later the mother was brought back dead.
Went to the surface yesterday morningIt is known that the incident has cast a shadow of mourning on the area. The victim’s mother complained, “My daughter was taken to the hospital for cesarean in a healthy condition. They operated without any examination. After a while, the nurse came out with the newborn and asked for bakshish (gift). Later, when I took her out, I saw that her face was black and her body was cold. When asked, they said, ‘A cooling injection was given, then Mirzapur Kumudini.’When he was taken to the hospital, the doctors said that he had died long ago.
Husband Sudeep Malo said, “My wife died due to wrong treatment and negligence. I want justice from the administration.
Md. Aminul Dewan, Managing Director of Dewan Digital Hospital, tried to contact him several times by phone, but he could not be reached. Later tried to contact on WhatsApp too, but no responsedid not match

Kaliakair Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Sadia Munmun said, “After receiving the instructions of the District Civil Surgeon, necessary measures will be taken after investigation.”
In this regard, civil surgeon Dr. Gazipur. Mamunur Rahman said, “I am not yet officially aware of the incident. Necessary measures will be taken by forming an investigation committee to find out.”

Kaliakair Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Kauchar AhmedSaid, “I am not aware of the incident. But I will present the matter in the district coordination meeting and legal action will be taken against the unlicensed and expired hospitals in coordination with the district civil surgeon.”
