Senior journalist Sheikh Shaheen elected as Senior Vice Chairman of NPS
Expectations of experienced leadership in human rights protection
Senior journalist and editor of daily Dhaka Times newspaper Sheikh Shaheen has been elected as the senior vice chairman of human rights organization National Press Society (NPS). His tenure is fixed from 2026 to 2028.
(NPS) Organization Chairman and Publisher of Modern News Paper &Secretary Mahabubul Islam and the support of all the members of the Central Council nominated Sheikh Shaheen for this post.
After the election, Sheikh Shaheen said, "I will do my best to strengthen the work of NPS in protecting human rights, media freedom and establishing social justice."
The leaders of the organization said that senior journalist Sheikh Shaheen's experience and leadership will make NPS a more effective and influential organization in the coming days.
