Workshop on Genetic and Microbial Innovations to Enhance Rice Production in Phosphorus-Deficient Soils, Patuakhali University.

A workshop on “Improving Rice Productivity in Phosphorus Deficient Soils Using Genetic and Microbial Innovations” under the initiative of Genetics and Plant Breeding Department of Patuakhali University of Science and Technology (Pabiprobi) will be held today, November 20 at 11 am at TSC conference hall of the university.held
President of Genetics and Plant Breeding Department Professor Dr. presided over the event. Md. Mahmudul Hassan. The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Dr. was present as the chief guest. Kazi Rafiqul Islam.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. was present as a special guest. S. M. Hemayet Jahan, Treasurer Professor. Abdul Latif, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Professor Dr. Md. Delwar Hussain, andHigh Education Training (HET) Project Senior Financial Specialist of Bangladesh University Grant Commission. Mansuruzzaman Khan. In the speech of the special guest, Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. S. M. Hemayet Jahan said, “This workshop will play an important role in enriching knowledge development and research. Through the success of the related projects, the research potential of the university will further advance.”
In the speech of the chief guestVice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Kazi Rafiqul Islam said, “Research programs should be expanded in Pabiprabi. The innovative results of this project should not be limited to the lab, but should be delivered to the farmers’ fields. If our teachers focus more on academic activities as well as research, the university will add new dimensions to national agricultural research.” He also said, “Due to phosphorus deficiency in different parts of the countryRice production is decreasing. Today’s workshop will play an important role in solving this problem through genetic and microbial innovation. Our university administration has always given priority to increasing research facilities and will continue to do so in the future.” The workshop was attended by hundreds of representatives including deans, registrars, department chairmen, teachers, officers and researchers of various faculties.
