An advocacy meeting was held on the occasion of Family Welfare Services and Promotion Week with the theme Planned Family, Safe Motherhood Pledge - at Burichong in Comilla.

The meeting was held on the initiative of the Upazila Family Planning Office at the upazila parishad auditorium on Wednesday (December 3) at 11 am.

Upazila Family Planning Officer RegulationUpazila Executive Officer Md Tanvir Hossain was the chief guest in the meeting held under the chairmanship of Kanti Rudra.

Dr. Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer was present as a special guest. Malekul Aftab Bhuiyan, Upazila Agriculture Officer Afrina Akhtar and Burichong Police Station OC (Investigation) Md Aminul Islam.

Burichong Press Club President Kazi Khorshed Alam, Rajapur UP Chairman Md Abul Kashem also spoke at the meeting.Master, former assistant medical officer of Pirjatrapur Union Dr. Shamimul Islam Babul, Regional Manager of Grameen Kalyan Foundation Mohammad Icha, Fazlur Rahman College of Technology teacher Mosa: Akhinur Akhtar.

Apart from this, Youth Development Officer Shahedul Alam Chowdhury, Dr. Hedayet Ullah, BRD Officer Russell Sarwar, Women Affairs Officer Fatema Zohra, Secondary Education Officer Md KabirAhmed and the officials of various departments.

Speakers said, campaign should be strengthened to prevent child marriage, ensure normal delivery, increase health awareness among students and expectant mothers, identify danger signs. They emphasized on concerted efforts to reduce maternal and child mortality.
