
Half-day strike of medical technologists and pharmacists in Khagrachari demanding implementation of 10th grade
The medical technologists and pharmacists of the 250-bed modern district headquarters hospital observed a half-day strike demanding the promotion of medical technologists (all) and diploma pharmacists working in health institutions under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare from 11th grade to 10th grade.
Wednesday (3December) this strike is observed from 8 am to 12 noon.
Technologists and pharmacists said that despite playing an important role in health care including diagnosis, testing, radiotherapy, physiotherapy, dental services, medicine management and distribution, they have been neglected for a long time.
Diploma Engineers, Nurses and Agriculturists have already been promoted to 10th grade of Class II despite having the same educational qualification.They alleged that the just demands of medical technologists and pharmacists have not yet been implemented.

On 01/01/2025, the Secretary of the Department of Health sent a proposal for awarding 10th grade to the Department of Health Services.

They alleged that the implementation of 10th grade has been stalled for years due to red tape and bureaucratic complications.
The technologists and technologists of all institutions including various public and private hospitals, medical colleges, clinics, diagnostic centers, parliament and secretariat medical centers across the country controlled by the Directorate of Health, Directorate of Health Education and Family Planning.Pharmacists are united in this demand.
The agitators said that if the demands are not met, a ‘full shutdown’ program will be held from tomorrow.
