Three illegal one-shooter guns and 6 rounds fired by Mahananda Battalion 59 BGB at the border
Chapainawabganj Mahananda Battalion 59 BGB Shibganj upazila Chakpara border 1 Chaukash raided on November 27 at approximately 9 pm and recovered 3 illegal foreign one shooter guns and 6 rounds. In order to destabilize the law and order situation in the country on the occasion of the upcoming 11th National Assembly elections, the director general of BGB has issued special instructions to stop the smuggling of arms, ammunition and explosives through the border by criminals/terrorists. The captain came to know through his own intelligence that Aloke will enter Bangladesh through the border area of Chapainawabganj Mahananda Battalion (59 BGB) under the direction of the Director General. For that purpose, since the last one month, strict surveillance has been increased along with its own intelligence patrol activities in the 75 km border area under the responsibility of the battalion. In this context, under the direction of Mahananda Battalion 59 BGB, on November 27 at approximately 9 pm, a sharp patrol team of Chakpara BOP under the battalion conducted a special operation on the bank of Pagla river in an area called Naldubi Bridge of Shahbazpur Union under Shibganj Thana of Chapainawabganj district, approximately 25 yards from border pillar 183/4-S inside Bangladesh. In the said operation, the patrol team recovered 03 foreign one shooter guns and 06 rounds without owner. Initially, it is believed that the recovered weapons are planned to be used in the internal law and order and terrorist activities of the country. Handover of recovered arms and bullets and diary to Shibganj police station is ongoing. It is to be noted that Chapainawabganj Mahananda Battalion 59 BGB has managed to seize 30 local/foreign pistols, 392 rounds of bullets and 41 magazines along with 15 accused by conducting raids in the responsible areas of the border in the last 3 years. Chapainganj Mahananda Battalion Captain Lt. Golam Kibria, BGBM, BGOM has confirmed the fact in this regard. He also said,Special patrols are being conducted along with increased operational activities in border areas to implement the zero tolerance policy against arms, ammunition, drugs and smuggling.Which will continue in the future.
