
*Arrest warrant against 29 people including son of former railway minister Jillul Hakim*
The court has issued an arrest warrant against 29 people, including district Awami League member Ashiq Mahmud alias Mitul Hakim, son of former Rajbari-2 Constituency Member of Parliament and former Railway Minister Jillul Hakim.
Judge and Senior Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Mohsin Hasan of Rajbari Pangsha Amli Court gave this order on Monday (December 8).
On September 1, 2024, Suman Khandkar, son of Nazrul Islam of Maguradangi village of Pangsha municipality, filed a case against 31 people as the plaintiff. The lawsuit alleges,
On December 25, 2018, under the leadership of Mitul Hakim, a donation of Tk 10 lakh was demanded. As the demand was not met, the accused entered the plaintiff’s residence on December 27, created panic by exploding cocktails and brandished pistols and demanded extortion. Fearing for his life, the plaintiff was forced to pay 5 lakhs. Later pressure was created to demand another 5 lakh rupees.
2 people acquitted in investigation, charge sheet against 29 people
The case was investigated by Faridpur District Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Inspector Sunil Kumar Karmakar. After the investigation, Sakib and Sujit Chandra Das of Kurapara village were acquitted and a charge sheet was filed against 29 people in the court.

Mitul Hakim, Deepak Kundu, Farooq Sardar, Safiq, Jewel, Mohammad Akkas, Saiful, Chand Ali Sardar, Al-Amin, Robin, Momin Mondal, Shiplu, Reza, Manowar Hossain Johnny, Dilip Chandra Das, Saddam, Abul Hossain, Abdur Razzak Raja, Arif, Hasan, Masood, Rumi Hakim and many more.
