Attack and vandalism at Rupganj’s Jangalbari resort: case against extortionists.

A group of extortionists attacked, vandalized and looted the Junglebari resort in Rupganj of Narayanganj after not getting the demanded extortion money. Two employees of the resort were severely beaten and injured when they tried to stop the attack.

The incident took place on the afternoon of December 1 in Hankur area of ​​Daudpur union of the upazila. The owner of the resort, Ripon Mia, filed a case at the Rupganj police station on the morning of December 6.

Ripon Mia said that for a long time Munna Mia, Sohan and Rajeev of Zinda area and their people have been demanding one lakh taka per month. A group of 10-12 people armed with ramadas, knives and Chinese axes attacked the resort due to non-payment of subscription. They looted CCTV cameras, valuable furniture and cash of Rs. Employees Aqib and Sunny were beaten and injured when they resisted. The attackers also threatened to attack again if the neighbor did not pay the contribution.

Rupganj Police Station OC Tariqul Islam said,”The case has been settled. The process of arresting the accused is underway. They will be arrested and sent to Narayanganj court.”
