In Dumki upazila of Patuakhali district, there was brief tension over the courtesy meeting of the newly formed committee of the Government Janata College branch Chhatra Dal. The incident took place in the college around 11:30 on Sunday.

Khalid Hasan, Baijid Shubo, Zobair Hossain Abdullah, Rakib Khan, the members paid a courtesy call to the college principal Professor Azimullah and other teachers. The leaders exchanged views on the management of educational institutions, environmental development and organizational issues. The teachers said that they gave floral greetings during the meeting.
Meanwhile, the situation became tense when a group of the deposed Chhatra Dal started protesting at the main gate of the college. They claimed that the opinions of seniors were ignored in the formation of the committee. When the matter became known, the teachers quickly came forward and brought the situation under control.
There was no untoward incident between the two sides due to the intervention of the teachers. Later the leaders of the newly formed committee peacefully exchanged greetings and left the college.
