Residents angry at acute gas shortage in Sheikhdi, announcement of siege of Rayerbagh gas office.

There has been a severe gas crisis for a long time in the Sheikhdi area of ​​Ward No. 62 of Dhaka South City Corporation. Starting from cooking, daily life is being disrupted to the extreme. A month ago, a meeting with the managing director (MD) of Titus Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited, but no effective solution has been found.

It is known that Alhaj Nabi Ulla Nabi, the BNP candidate candidate for Dhaka-5 Constituency and dignitaries of Sheikhdi area met Titas MD a month ago at Rayerbagh Zonal Gas Office, Motijheel Gas Office and Titas Gas Head Office at Kawran Bazar. At that time, the MD promised to solve the gas crisis within ten days, but even after a month, there is no progress.

In view of this, a special meeting was held today at Sheikhdi Abdullah Mollah School and College to resolve the gas crisis. In the meeting, it was unanimously decided to hold the Rayerbagh gas office siege program on Monday.

Secretary of Al Hera Jame Mosque Kamal Hossain gave the opening speech in the meeting. He said, “We are suffering from gas crisis for a long time. Despite repeated assurances, there is no real solution.”

In the meeting held under the chairmanship of Syed Ahmed, President of Sheikhdi Abdullah Mollah School and College, Baspati Mosque Secretary Mukti Ali Khan, SM Jahangir Hossain, Haji Sowell, Shamim Ahmed, leaders of East Sheikhdi Gas Solution Committee and Battala Jame Mosque President Mustafa Kamal Pasha also spoke.The speakers immediately demanded to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to Shekhdi area and warned of more stringent program if the demand is not implemented. The residents have requested the participation of people from all walks of life to make tomorrow’s siege program a success.
