Shahjalal under the hands of land robbers in Chandrasekhardi of Daudkandi: The old farmer is fighting to protect his ancestral home.
65-year-old farmer Shahjalal, son of late Abdul Jalil, of Chandrasekhardi village in Biteshwar union of Daudkandi upazila, is struggling to save his ancestral home.
Allegedly, Kaushar Alam Sarkar (42), son of Abul Kashem Sarkar of the same village, who is known as a land robber, has been trying to occupy his ancestral property for a long time. There are various allegations against Kaushar Alam Sarkar, including illegal land occupation.
From what was seen on the surface, Shahjalal is the legal owner and occupier of his ancestral land according to BS Final No. 398 Khatian of Chandrashekhardy Mauza. Beside that land Kaushar Alam government established “Alhaj Abu Kashem Hosneara Hafiziya Madrasa” where about 10 students are currently studying.
Complaints of the locals - In 2022, Kauchar started a madrasa after buying a 4th century land and built a tin house. But within a few years, in the name of expanding the scope of the madrasa, he acquired two hundred more acres of land and enlarged the tin house. Now he is trying to take over Shahjalal's ancestral land as well.
Case after case, but justice is far-fetched
Although more than 5 cases have already been filed in this regard, the victims have failed to get justice. Local commentaries influenced the investigating officers to produce 'Voyaged Reports', thereby depriving the real owner of justice.
Shahjalal, an old farmer, said, "I am fighting to save my father's house. Sections 645, 145 and 147 of the Civil Code are pending in the court. I will ask for a re-investigation. Demand to the administration that a full report be submitted to the court after verifying the truth."
Local residents said it is sad to grab land in the name of establishing schools or madrasas. They sought the immediate intervention of the administration. So that helpless people can protect their ancestral property.
