Smuggled goods seized at Panchari border

Gilatli BOP, 3 BGB members seized various Bangladeshi goods while preparing to smuggle them into India through illegal smuggling while conducting regular patrolling in the border area of Panchari Upazila of hilly Khagrachari.

According to BGB sources, the patrol team led by Naib Subedar Md. Mofazzal Hossain recovered the goods kept for smuggling from the mango orchard area near the border on Monday afternoon, December 8, 2025. Among the products seized were — System Plus Insecticide, Babyset Insecticide, Chapa Shutki, Pop Cream and Banalata Salsa. The estimated value of these goods is about one and a half lakh rupees.

According to Panchari Battalion (3 BGB), BGB is conducting operations regularly to prevent smuggling, maintain peace and harmony and development in the mountainous border areas. The cooperation of the local people is very much needed in the detection of crime and smuggling in the border areas.The process of submitting the seized products to the Chittagong Customs Office is underway.
