Press conference in Sunamganj to protest the threat of killing the mother by her stepson and to demand justice

Stepmother Chafa Mohammad has held a press conference in Sunamganj to protest against the death threat of expatriate mother returned to Kuwait by her stepson and to demand justice.

A press conference was held on the 2nd floor of Sunamganj Municipal Market at 3 pm on Friday at the initiative of this expatriate woman resident of Iqbal Nagar of Sadar Upazila. Journalists from various print and electronic media were present.
In the press conference, he mentioned a Kuwaiti expatriate and told the women reporters that he came to Bangladesh three months ago after staying in Kuwait for a long time. After she came to the country, when she tried to repair the house on the land of Safa Mohammad, on the south side of the bird eye hospital, adjacent to Iqbalnagar, Ward No. 09 of Sunamganj municipality, Safa Mohammad’s husband Md. Suhail Ahmad and his 1st wife’s son Md. Khokon Mia and the caretaker of the house blocked the expatriate woman and ordered her to leave the place, otherwise she was threatened with death.

He also mentioned that on December 10, 2025, when I went to look after the homestead repair work on my named land, my husband and stepson abused me in unspeakable language. Later they took me in a CNG to their house and tortured me physically and mentally for 5/6 hours. Elopatari killed, punched and beat me severely. I was threatened with death if I filed any lawsuit in this incident. Later, my brother’s son Tashkir Ali rescued me from their residence.

Then I made a General Diary (GD) at Sunamganj Sadar Model Police Station to save my life from my husband and stepson. After that, they got more angry and threatened to kill me by deeding the land in my name in their name. I am suffering from extreme insecurity due to their torture and threats.

Also, I would like to inform you that,Out of the 95 cents of land in my name, I give 30 cents of land to my stepson. Still, he wants to grab another 30 centuries of land by various tricks. He is constantly threatening me with death because I don’t give him the land. This makes me extremely insecure. So I want the administration to intervene in the security of my land and life. ##
