A single-barreled gun-pipe gun was found in a bag in a grave in Begumganj

Police recovered 6 single-barreled guns and a pipe gun from a graveyard in Begumganj, Noakhali.

On Sunday (November 7) around 9:30 am, the weapons were recovered in sacks from a broken grave in the family graveyard of Manu Miji’s house in Jagdishpur village of Alaiyarpur union of the upazila.

According to police and local sources, people of Manu Miji’s house in Jagdishpur village of the upazila went to clean the family graveyard near their house around 9 am. At that time, they saw sack bags lying in a broken grave. They immediately informed the police of Lakshipur’s Chandraganj police station and Begumganj police station. On receiving the information, the police of Chandraganj and Begumganj police stations went to the spot and recovered the sacked bag in an abandoned state. It was opened and 6 country-made single-barreled guns and 1 country-made pipe gun were found.

When contacted, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Begumganj police station MA Bari confirmed the truth of the incident and said,Based on the information of the locals, the weapons were recovered from the abandoned state. Currently, the weapons are in the custody of Chandraganj police station. In this case, legal action will be taken subject to further investigation.
