Embezzlement of money using organizational power in Jaipurhat Press Club

Various allegations of irregularities and corruption have been made against the present leadership of Joypurhat Press Club. According to the allegations, the then General Secretary Masood Rana transferred a house of the Press Club through forged deed to get OMS dealership. Significantly, Masud Rana was not the general secretary before August 8, but the deed document shows July as the elected general secretary. Ratan Khan was the general secretary of the press club at that time.

On the other hand, the income and expenditure of the press club for a year are shown to be the same amount, which the members of the executive committee expressed doubts about. For this reason, an audit committee of four members was formed.

After forming the audit committee, General Secretary Masud Rana returned Tk 51 thousand and Treasurer Musa Tk 1 lakh 14 thousand to the fund of the organization. The complainants claim that the refund of the money shows that the concerned have accepted the responsibility of the crime. A total of 1 lakh 66 thousand rupees returned to the organization.

Allegedly, this money would not have been returned if the protesting members of the organization had not taken an active role. The general members appealed to the executive committee in two stages to take the matter into consideration,But the president of the press club did not take it into account
