Reckless use of political identity over railway land grab in Khilkhet area of Dhaka North City has created renewed concern. According to the ground information, a class of politically influential persons have been occupying the railway property for a long time and are carrying out illegal construction and extortion activities.

Residents complain that by using political identity as a shield, these occupiers have turned the state's resources into a source of personal income. Many are afraid to speak out against the cycle—for fear of being defamed, attacked, or harassed.
