3027 cases 3152 arrested in 9910 raids of Narcotics Control Directorate in Rangpur Division in 11 and a half months
3 thousand 27 cases, 3 thousand 152 drug-related accused were arrested by Directorate of Narcotics Control Rangpur Division in conducting 9 thousand 910 operations in 11 and a half months.
Rangpur Division of Narcotics Control Directorate claims to achieve significant success in anti-narcotics campaign. From January to December 15 of this year, the organization took a strict stand against drug dealers through continuous and coordinated operations in eight districts of Rangpur division.
During this period a total of 9 thousand 910 operations were conducted across the department, through which 3 thousand 27 cases were filed. 3 thousand 152 drug-related accused have been arrested in these cases.
Sources of the Narcotics Control Department said that the amount of drugs recovered in these raids clearly shows the spread and horror of drug trade in Rangpur division. The recovered drugs include about 10,600 kg of ganja, 4,500 bottles of Phensidyl, 500 grams of heroin and 5,500 pieces of yaba. Apart from this, various other illegal drugs have also been seized, which makes Rangpur division a border region of the country for drug smugglers.

In addition to drugs, money and vehicles involved in drug dealing were also seized during the operation. 8 lakh cash used in drug sales was recovered. Besides, 18 motorcycles, 3 microbuses, 3 CNG autorickshaws, 10 easy bikes and 64 mobile phones have been seized. These vehicles and communication equipment have been used for a long time for drug transportation, transactions and communication between businessmen, according to the concerned officials.
Masud Hossain, Additional Director of Narcotics Control Directorate Rangpur Division Office, said that raids are being conducted regularly in eight districts of Rangpur Division. Our goal is to eliminate drugs. For this purpose no exemption is being given against drug dealers, transporters and associates.
He also said that the operation will be strengthened in the future in coordination with law enforcement and local administration.He said that drugs are not only a crime but also a serious threat to society and future generations. Especially the young society is going astray due to drugs, family and social ties are being destroyed. That is why public awareness activities are being conducted along with the anti-drug campaign.
