Sharif Osman Hadi's body arrives in Dhaka, public tributes at Dhaka University
The plane carrying the body of Inkilab Manch spokesperson Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi has landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. He was brought home in a coffin draped in the red-green national flag.
The flight from Singapore landed in Dhaka at 5:54 am on Friday (December 19). After the body reached the airport, preparations were made to take it directly to the Central Mosque of Dhaka University. The body of martyr Osman Hadi will be kept there for public homage.
It has been informed by Inkilab Manch that activists and ordinary people will pay their last respects to Shaheed Osman Hadi by standing in an orderly manner on both sides of the road leading from the airport to Shahbagh.
Earlier, Shahid Osman Bin Hadi (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raziun) passed away on Thursday (December 19) at 10:15 pm while undergoing treatment at the Singapore General Hospital. On his death, special prayers and mourning were observed across the country on Friday.
Incidentally, Osman Hadi was seriously injured by terrorists on his way back after the election campaign on December 12. First he was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Later, when his physical condition deteriorated, he was taken to Evercare Hospital in the capital for better treatment. As the condition did not improve there, he was sent to Singapore by air ambulance on December 15. However, all efforts failed and he died while undergoing treatment.The death of martyr Osman Hadi has cast a shadow of deep mourning in the political and social arena. Leaders of various parties and organizations paid tribute to him and expressed their grief.
