BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia was very successful in her political life, said Professor Muhammad Yunus, chief advisor to the interim government.
He said this in a message expressing deep grief over the death of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia on Tuesday (December 30).
In the condolence message, the Chief Advisor said, Begum Khaleda Zia was a unique and powerful leader in Bangladesh politics. He never lost an election. He was elected from five different parliamentary constituencies in the general elections held from 1991 to 2001. In addition, in the 2008 national parliamentary elections, he won all the three seats he contested.
Professor Muhammad Yunus also said that the nation lost a great guardian in the death of Begum Khaleda Zia. His contribution to the democracy and political history of the country will be remembered forever.
