Freedom fighter Kishore Kumar Gupta was cremated in Hossainpur with state dignity

The last rites of freedom fighter and former football referee Mr. Kishore Kumar Gupta (97) have been completed in Hossainpur of Kishoreganj with state honor.

His last rites were performed at Sri Sri Kuleshwari Bari Shashman on Friday (January 16). Earlier in Sri Sri Kuleshwari Devalaya premises
A group of policemen led by Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Lands) Mohsi Masnad gave him a guard of honour.

At that time, upazila freedom fighter commander Rafiqul Islam, brave freedom fighter Munjurul Islam, senior vice-president of Bangladesh Puja Udjaj Parishad, journalist Pradeep Kumar Sarkar, president of Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mahajot Hossainpur upazila branch Sanjit Chandra Sheel, sportsperson and other political party leaders were present.

It is to be noted that Shri Kishore Kumar Gupta breathed his last at the Dhaka Paralytic Hospital this morning due to old age. His death has cast a shadow of deep grief in sports and freedom fighter circles. At the time of his death, he left many benefactors including three sons and two daughters.

It is known that Kishore Kumar was a dedicated sports fan during his lifetime. His love for football was lifelong. Once upon a time, he performed the duties of referee in big football matches held in Hossainpur upazila with skill and dedication. He was highly respected by players and spectators due to his impartiality and sense of discipline. Apart from this, he was a brave freedom fighter on the battlefield. His contribution to the Great War of Liberation is remembered locally even today.
