Rural unpaved road in Mithapukur swallows Farooq’s brick kiln: Lohni residents suffer.

In Lohani village outside Payaraband union of Mithapukur upazila, the rural unpaved roads are getting lost in the coral grass of the brick kiln. The mud roads are now completely impassable due to the rampage of tractors carrying mud from local influencer Farooq’s brick kiln. Due to the non-stop movement of 20 to 30 drum trucks/trolleys day and night, the township has turned into dust and deep potholes.

The unpaved roads through the village were the main means of transportation for the common people. But those roads are now in a skeletal state after being crushed by the heavy tractor wheels of Farooq’s brick kiln. Locals complain that the unpaved road has turned into a big drain due to the weight of the truck. It is a hell of mud in rainy days and a desert of dust in dry season. Much to the dismay of the local people, development is far from over, due to the ebb of Farooq, it is also swallowing our old dirt roads.

Bricks eating roads This effect is not limited to traffic. Dust blown from the road and covered with brick linings are all around. As a result, the yield of the traditional coconut and betel nut trees of Bahir Lohni area is getting lost. Farmers are in trouble with crops due to the dust layer on the cultivated land. In many places roadside land is being demolished to make way for trucks, which is reducing the area of ​​agricultural land.
In the state of Dhula, the most affected are the young children of the area. Students are unable to breathe in the dust on the way to school. Children are suffering from various skin diseases including cold, cough and asthma. Studying at home has also become a liability due to the noise and dust of 20-30 tractors every day. Parents of school going children are always in fear of accidents.

The demand of the common people of the area,The local residents have requested the urgent intervention of the upazila administration to immediately stop these activities that destroy the environment and roads and repair the rural roads.
