Shaon businessman of Narsingdi was arrested on his way to work abroad.

Shah Jalal Ahmed Shaon, district general secretary of the banned Chhatra League of Narsingdi, was arrested by the police while he was leaving the country for Dubai. He was arrested on his way to Dubai through Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Saturday 10th January 2025 with the help of Immigration Police. The matter of arrest has been confirmed by his family. The police said that there are a total of six cases against Shah Jalal Ahmed Shawon for assault, shooting and murder in the anti-discrimination student movement. Confirming the arrest, his brother Imran Mahmud said, “My brother was arrested on Saturday morning when he went to the airport on his way to Dubai on family business.” We confirmed this through the immigration police. We are demanding his unconditional release. However, Narsingdi Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Sujan Chandra Sarkar said, initially we have received information about the arrest of Shah Jalal Ahmed Shawon. Shah Jalal Ahmed Shawon is the son of Abul Hasim of Baniachal area of ​​Narsingdi Sadar Upazila. He was elected as General Secretary of Narsingdi District Chhatra League on 31 July 2022. Before this, he was the joint secretary of District Chhatra League and joint secretary of Narsingdi Government College Branch Chhatra League. According to police sources, he was in hiding since August 5, 2024. Attacks on anti-discrimination movement against him,There are six separate cases of shooting and murder.
