The ‘Dhaliwood Film and Music Award’ was held in Dhaka in a grand manner

The 25th edition of Dhaliwood Film and Music Awards organized by Showtime Music and Play and presented by Weekly Address was held in the capital Dhaka in a grand manner. The Silver Jubilee 25th edition of Dhaliwood Film and Music Awards came down on the colorful gathering of stars with memories, tunes and people’s stories of Dhaliwood’s long journey of twenty-five years. Last January 9, 2026, Friday, in this event organized at the China Friendship International Conference Center in Dhaka, famous artists, makers and people related to culture of different times met on one stage. After evening, the ceremony started with dancing as soon as the lights on the stage. Mandira Chakraborty inaugurated the event by performing the song ‘Ghumaila Ghumailare Bandhu’ from the movie ‘Kajalrekha’. The entire hall full of spectators comes to life in the melding of music, dance and light.

Before this, the well-known artists and artists of the entertainment arena appeared one by one on the red carpet. Famous actress Munira Mithu, actress Rozina who shook the screen, actress Tasdik Namira Ahmed, strong actor of Dhakai film Misha Saudagar, Shahiduzzaman Salim, Dilara Zaman, Fakhrul Bashar Masum, Shaukat Ali Emons were artists of different generations. Stars like Mau Shikha, Shahed Sharif Khan, choreographer Ivan Shahriar Sohag, Sanju John, vocalist Salma, magicians Jewel Aich and Bipasha Aich, Nishi Shrabni, Yash Rohan, Shahreen Sultana Meem, Shafiul Alam Babu and her daughter Melita Mehzabin Orpa and actress Mehzabin Chowdhury were present.

An emotional moment came at the beginning of the ceremony when the Lifetime Achievement Award was announced. In recognition of her long acting career, the award was presented to veteran actress Dilara Zaman. He could not handle his emotions on the stage. Eyes speak louder than words in brief gratitude.

Up to 10:30 pm local time, awards were given in various categories in recognition of contributions in cinema, music, drama and digital media. Artists have been honored in both categories—popularity as well as critics’ choice.Private TV channel NTV telecasted this special event live. Kazi Mostafa and Jahangir Chowdhury were in charge of conducting the whole program. The title sponsor of the event was Golden Age and Powered by Utsav Group.

With this silver jubilee event held in Dhaka, Dhaliwood Film and Music Awards added a new chapter—where the past twenty-five years of memories and the time ahead came together on one stage.
Showtime Music and Play’s CEO Alamgir Khan Alam, cultural personality, expressed his feelings to Bapnews about holding this Dhallywood Film and Music Award ceremony in the capital Dhaka for the first time. Even though the Dhallywood Film and Music Award ceremony has been held in different states of the United States for so long with talented artists of the country, I feel very proud and happy to be able to hold this ceremony in the home soil. Alamgir Khan Alam said that he has received good support from many people in such a big event in his country within a short period of time.
In response to another question, Alamgir Khan Alam said that Dhaliwood Film and Music Awards will be held in Dubai next year.

Meanwhile, at the Dhaliwood Film and Music Award ceremony held in Dhaka, Chairman of America Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ABCCI) and director of New York New Horizon Lion Club, Giyas Ahmed, who came from New York, told Bapnews, ‘I am very happy to organize such a beautiful event for the first time in the country.
