JSF Bangladesh strongly protested against the brutal attack on the activists of Inkilab Manch

Last Friday, February 6, 2026, the organizer of the National Collective Forum JSF Bangladesh, Gazi Anwar Hossain Liton, strongly condemned and protested the incidents of police lathicharge, tear gas and sound grenades during the peaceful sit-in program of Inqilab Manch activists in front of the Intercontinental Hotel in the capital.

National Collective Forum JSF Bangladesh organizer Haji Anwar Hussain Liton said in a statement that the activists of the Inkilab Manch were holding a sit-in peacefully demanding justice for the murder of Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi under the UN. At around 4 pm on Friday, without any provocation, the police suddenly threw sound grenades and tear gas and dispersed the activists with batons. Many people were seriously injured, including Inkilab Manch member secretary Abdullah Al Jaber, Raksur GS Salahuddin Ammar and DU branch spokesperson Fatima Tasnim Juma. This aggressive role of the police in a peaceful program demanding justice in a democratic state is not only reprehensible, but is an expression of old fascist behavior. In the same way that the students and the masses sent away fascism with their blood, the police today proved that they are still working as servants of fascism by shedding blood on the streets.

The National Collective Forum JSF Bangladesh also said in a statement, “The current interim government, established through a popular uprising, is showing utter indifference to the trial of the murder of Shaheed Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, a vocal voice against fascism and hegemonic forces. Osman Hadi, convener of Inkilab Manch, was shot on December 12 while campaigning as an independent candidate in Dhaka-8 constituency and died on December 18 while undergoing treatment in Singapore. It is very regrettable that even after 56 days of the shooting, no logical progress can be observed in the case. Additionally, the hearing of the case has already been adjourned 5 times.Which clearly shows the irresponsibility and mysterious behavior of the administration. If during the government formed after the revolution of the students, if families seeking justice have to be beaten on the streets, then it is appropriate to question the moral basis of this government. This negligence of the administration and the attempt to support the murderers will not be tolerated in any way.”

JSF Bangladesh also said in the statement, “The nation should know whether there is a deep conspiracy of domestic and foreign hegemonic circles behind the obstruction of the trial process of martyr Osman Hadi. The policemen involved in today’s attack should be identified and punished immediately. The logical demands raised by the Inkilab platform must be immediately accepted and a fair and impartial trial of Osman Hadi’s murder must be ensured as soon as possible. We pray to Almighty Allah for the speedy recovery of the activists injured in today’s attack and give a clear warning to the government that if the repression is not immediately stopped and justice is done, the students-The masses will once again be forced to put up a tough resistance on the streets.”
