BNP candidates won with huge votes in both Rajbari constituencies

Deputy Commissioner and District Returning Officer Sultana Akhtar announced the results in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office on Thursday (February 12) night.
He said that in Rajbari-1 (Sadar-Goaland) constituency, polling was held in total 157 polling stations including postal vote counting center. The total number of voters in this seat is 4 lakh 30 thousand 215 people. Among them 2 lakh 71 thousand 902 voters exercise their right to vote. 5 thousand 596 votes were canceled out of these votes.
BNP nominated candidate Ali Newaz Mahmud Khayyam won by getting 1 lakh 54 thousand 541 votes in the constituency. Member of National Executive Committee of BNP and former president of District BNP, this time he was elected Member of Parliament for the second time from Rajbari-1 Constituency. He was elected as a member of parliament as a BNP nominated candidate from this seat in the 8th national parliament election in 2001. He was also a three-time mayor of Rajbari municipality.
This time, his nearest rival in the seat is Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami nominated candidate. Nurul Islam got 1 lakh 1 thousand 92 votes in scale symbol. In this constituency, Jatiya Party candidate Khondkar Habibur Rahman Bachchu got 2 thousand 586 votes in plow symbol and Zaker Party nominated candidate Mohammad Ali Biswas got 8 thousand 87 votes in rose symbol.
On the other hand, in Rajbari-2 (Pansha, Kalukhali, Baliakandi) constituencies, polling was held in a total of 199 polling stations including postal vote counting stations. The total number of voters in this constituency is 5 lakh 59 thousand 693 people. Among them 3 lakh 63 thousand 194 voters exercise their right to vote. 9 thousand 309 votes were canceled out of these votes.
BNP nominated candidate received 2 lakh 37 thousand 254 votes in the seat. Haroon-or-Rashid has won. Former general secretary of Rajbari District BNP. This is Harun-or-Rashid's first election. He won the first election with a huge margin.
Rajbari-2 Constituency. Aaron-or-Jamil Hijazi, the candidate of NCP nominated 11-party alliance, Rashid's closest rival got 67 thousand 299 votes in Shapla Kali symbol. Independent candidate for this seat is the former president of district BNP. Nasirul Haque got 36 thousand 338 votes in Sabu Kals symbol, Islami Andolan Bangladesh nominated candidate Moha. Abdul Malek received 8 thousand 503 votes in the symbol of Hatpakha, candidate of Khilafat Majlis Kazi Minhajul Alam received 321 votes in symbol of wall clock, candidate of Bangladesh Cultural Freedom Alliance. Abdul Malek Mandal got 266 votes in stick symbol, candidate of Jatiya Party. Shafiul Azam Khan got 2 thousand 52 votes on plow symbol, Jan Adhikar Parishad candidate Zahid Sheikh got 633 votes on truck symbol and independent candidate Sohail Mollah got 1 thousand 219 votes on football symbol.
Earlier on Thursday (February 12) from 7:30 am, polling started simultaneously in 42 thousand 779 centers across the country. Although the presence of voters in the centers is low since the morning, a huge crowd can be seen after the afternoon.The presence of young voters was especially noticeable. Voters have given their opinion on the future reconstruction of Bangladesh. Counting started after polling ended at 4:30 pm.
