Bangladeshi-American artists Monica Jahan Bose and Autumn Spears have a new joint exhibition at the Washington Project for the Arts in Washington DC. The theme of her exhibition at this art space in Dupont Circle is ‘Braids and Threads: Connecting Legacies’. Both of them have highlighted diasporic ideas based on Bangladeshi and African heritage in this joint exhibition. It includes Bangladeshi and African methods and designs of braiding or braids and khopa, art practice through cloth embroidery and other related handicrafts.
