Journalism as well as teaching in Netrakona’s Purwadhala: Shokaj that teacher of Purwadhala

The Netrakona District Education Office has issued a show-cause notice to an assistant teacher of Purbadhala Upazila for allegedly violating government service rules.
According to the sources of the district education office, the Assistant Teacher (ICT) of Ghagra Dwimukhi High School of Purbadhala Upazila said. This notice has been given in view of allegations that Zayezul Islam is serving as the president of the local press club in addition to being involved in the journalism profession.
According to the letter issued on February 16, 2026, it is not lawful to engage in any private institution, organization or professional activity without the prior permission of the appropriate authority as per the Government Servant Conduct Rules. It is illegal to hold multiple financially lucrative positions at the same time.

It is mentioned in the complaint that the concerned teacher is working as Purbadhala correspondent in a daily newspaper and is also serving as the president of the press club. An explanation has been sought as to whether he has taken necessary permission or not.

The letter has been directed to give a written reply within the next 10 (ten) working days through the head teacher. It is informed that departmental action will be taken as per rules if satisfactory explanation is not received within the stipulated time.

Abdul Motalib, head teacher of Ghagra Bimukhi High School, said that the matter is being discussed. Teacher Zayezul Islam will respond through me in the next few days.

However, the education administration said,Further decisions will be taken based on the clarifications and investigations received.
