Press conference at district model press club, allegation of attempted murder on housewives, request for administration’s intervention.

Monira Khatun, a housewife of Gotia village of Saghata upazila, gave a press conference at the Gaibandha District Model Press Club and explained the details of the attempted murder. In a written statement, she claimed that her husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law tried to kill her in a premeditated manner.

She said that her husband Anarul Islam (35), father-in-law Md. Akbar Ali and mother-in-law Mocha Anechon Begum entered the kitchen after dinner at around 8:30 pm. According to the complaint, they pre-planned and switched off the main switch of the house, so that the surroundings were dark. Then he held him tightly from behind and hit him on the throat with a sharp stick. He also mentioned that he was seriously injured by hitting various parts of the body.

Monira Khatun said, hearing my scream, when my child came out of the house and started screaming, the neighbors came running. He was rescued in a bloody state and rushed to the hospital. First admitted to local hospital and later referred to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for better treatment. After some recovery, he filed a case in court.

In the press conference, he complained that since the incident, he and his family are being threatened in various ways. She expressed concern about her and her child’s safety.

He demanded justice through a fair and impartial investigation to the Superintendent of Police and the Deputy Commissioner of Gaibandha.

At the press conference, Monira Khatun took swift legal action.He demanded the arrest of the culprits and exemplary punishment.
