Distribution of food items on the occasion of Ramzan by Sylhet-Chittagong Friendship Foundation, Italy Branch

On the initiative of social and humanitarian organization Sylhet-Chittagong Friendship Foundation, Italy branch, joint convenor of Italy branch, distinguished social worker Italian expatriate humanitarian Atiqur Rahman, father of late Farooq Mia has distributed food items on the occasion of holy month of Ramadan.

On 19 February 2026, Thursday, at 4 pm, food items were distributed among the helpless poor family members of Jibdara village of Shimulbak union of Shantiganj upazila of Sunamganj district.

Mohati was present as the chief guest at this event, founder president of Sylhet-Chittagong Friendship Foundation. Shahidul Islam. The coach of the area. In the speech of the chief guest at the meeting, Shahidul Islam said that the holy month of Ramadan teaches self-restraint, compassion and humanity. In this month, it is our moral responsibility to stand by the poor and helpless people of the society.  This initiative of Italy branch joint convener Atiqur Rahman is really commendable. He is playing an important role in ensuring the food security of helpless families by providing food aid at the beginning of Ramadan.

Speakers in the event said that such humanitarian initiatives for the development of the poor and backward people are highly commendable. We hope that the Sylhet-Chittagong Friendship Foundation will continue the social development activities in this upazila in the future.

During the ceremony, dates, pulses, rice, oil, chickpeas, gram flour, sugar, were distributed among the poor widows and poor people in the month of Ramadan.Muri and Chira are distributed. The guests expressed hope that such a humanitarian initiative would help the needy people to observe Ramadan.
