The Home Minister commented that the police should not harass the journalists if they identify themselves. He said, journalists are important partners of the state; Their responsible role strengthens democracy.
Addressing the chief guest at an event in the capital, the home minister said, “Journalists work in the field to collect information. They should be treated with respect if they show valid identity cards while performing their duties. Unnecessary harassment is not acceptable.”
He also said that necessary instructions will be given to law enforcement forces in this regard, so that no obstacles are created in the professional work of journalists at the field level. At the same time, he urged the journalists to work responsibly in accordance with the principles.
