Incident report of incidents that happened in Manikganj district last year 2025
In Manikganj district from the beginning of 2025 to the month of November, 14 cases of violent theft and robbery have occurred.
Business establishments, cattle farms and even cemeteries are not spared from the hands of organized crime gangs.
7th February 2025 - Grave Digger:
Miscreants dug up five graves and stole the skulls at night in Hatani cemetery of Zamirta union of Singair upazila. Such a brutal incident caused intense agitation in the area.
8 February 2025- Rising Group factory heist:
At around 2:30 am, 20-25 masked robbers entered the "Popular Package and Accessories Limited" factory of Rising Group. Dying tied the hands and feet of the employees at gunpoint and looted the polybags and cash. In this incident, 12 robbers were arrested and looted goods were recovered in the joint operation of police and DB on the night of February 27.
26 June 2025 - The theft of seven cows:
Saturia upazila of Tilli Union in Bilpara village of North Partilli. 7 cows were stolen from the house of Nifaz Uddin, whose market value is around 10 lakh taka. One SI and two constables of the police station were closed in the police line due to negligence of duty in this incident.
18 July 2025 - Heist of half a crore rupees:
Bhowdipara village of Singair upazila. Kofil Uddin's house was burglarized. Thieves took advantage of the fact that the whole family was in the hospital. They broke the locker and ran away with 22 pieces of gold ornaments and 1.6 lakh 90 thousand rupees worth of goods worth about half a million rupees.
5 August 2025 - Armed robbery at businessman's house:
A group of 12-14 robbers took everyone hostage at the house of Raja Mia, a wood merchant of Khanaria Union of Sadar Upazila and looted 18 bags of gold and 12 lakhs in cash.
17 August 2025 - Looting cows and killing farmers:
75-year-old Mahar Uddin, the owner of the farm, was hacked to death by robbers when he was interrupted during the cow looting in Talebpur village of Singair. They took four cows in a truck. He died the next day while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
In this incident, RAB-4 raided and arrested 8 people including Dakat Sardar Ismail.
21 August 2025- Organized robbery in Shibbari Mohalla of the city:Around 3 a.m. in Shibbari Mahalla of Manikganj Municipal area, the house owner Mustafa Kamal and his wife were taken hostage by a gang of robbers who robbed them of about one and a half lakh taka and three and a half loads of gold ornaments.
1 September 2025 - Theft of Motorcycle in Court Premises:
A young man was caught red-handed while stealing a motorcycle from Manikganj court premises. The locals chased him and handed him over to the police. The detained youth Munna Faraji (25) is a resident of Shivaloy Upazila. Later, a case was filed against him.
3 September 2025 - Two houses burglarized on the same night:
Two houses were burglarized on the same night in Agsavar village in Saturia. Thieves took Tk 130,000, gold ornaments and three mobile phones from Taib Ali's house. Thieves also stole cash and mobile phone from Arif Mia's house next door.
22 September 2025- Expatriate women murdered:
A gang of robbers killed a returnee woman named Rashida Begum (55) at night in Byiljuri village of Payla union of Ghior upazila. They broke the furniture of the house and looted the goods and ran away. This killing spread grief and anger in the area.
22 September 2025 - Cow Loot in City:
Councilor and Awami League leader of Ward No. 9 of Manikganj Municipality. Miscreants looted 5 cows at gunpoint from Ujjal Hossain's "Jamela Dairy Farm". Such incidents in the heart of the city raise public concern.
26 September 2025 - Rice theft from Deccan:
Thieves stole 133 sacks of rice from Tanuratna rice shop in Khalpad district town. Later the police of Sadar police station conducted a raid and recovered the stolen rice, but the accused escaped.
30 October 2025- Phone theft of Tk 10 lakh in mobile showroom:
In the latest incident, organized gang of thieves raided "Pikabo Mobile Showroom" located at Bismillah Super Market on Shahid Rafiq Road, the busiest road in the city, and took away a phone set worth Tk 10 lakh.
Seven to eight miscreants entered the store in the morning by cutting the lock with a cutting machine and got away with 60 to 79 mobile phone sets of different models.
Shop owner Shishir Sen said, "Although there are CCTV cameras in the shop, the thieves cut the electricity. When I came in the morning, I found everything empty."According to the police, efforts are being made to identify and arrest the thieves by analyzing the video footage of the incident.
Yesterday morning (October 30) there was a robbery at a mobile showroom in the busiest area of the city.
The insecurity among the people of Manikganj is gradually increasing due to one after another theft, robbery and murder in ten months. Criminal gangs are now active in both urban and rural areas.
