Around 3 pm on Monday, a group of police under the leadership of Narayanganj District Police Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Mehdi Islam and Rupganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge AHM Salauddin conducted a raid in Chanpara Purnabasan Kendra area. At that time, the police arrested Shamim Mia, the fugitive accused under the warrant. After the arrest, Shamim was handcuffed and taken to the police car. At one point Shamim's followers and drug dealers blocked the police along with the police pickup. The followers started chanting various slogans about Shamim. At that time, they cut the wheel of the police pickup van.The present policemen were pushed and insulted. At one point, Shamim was kidnapped by attacking the police. At that time, when the police tried to resist, several policemen were injured by the attackers.

On receiving the information, other law enforcement officers reached the spot and rescued the trapped policemen. Later, the law and order forces conducted a special operation in Chanpara Purnabasan Kendra area. At that time 12 people including Shamim's wife Sathi Aktar were arrested.

At that time, the police came to know that the drug lord of Chanpara and the accused Shamim Mia, who is under warrant for multiple cases, is staying in that area. Later, when Shamim Mia was arrested by the police, Shamim's followers created a mob against the police. Later, additional law enforcement personnel went there and arrested 13 people including Shamim's wife. Rupganj police station is preparing a case in this incident.
