Chandni Akhter Khadija (20), a housewife, was accused of hacking her husband to death with a baton while she was sleeping while visiting a relative's house in Narail Sadar Upazila. In this incident, the husband of the victim, Shakib Sheikh, has been arrested by Sadar police station. Ujjal Roy, district representative from Narail, said that the murder took place at midnight on Tuesday (May 5) in Bhairgram area of ​​Kalora Union of the upazila. Later, the police arrested the accused.

Chandni Akter Khadija is the daughter of Kalam Sheikh of Alka village of Phultala upazila in Khulna. Accused Shakib Sheikh is a resident of Damodar village in the same upazila.
According to police and local sources, Sakib Sheikh and his wife Chandni Akhtar Khadija came to visit their aunt's house in the village of Kolora Union of Narail Sadar Upazila on Monday (May 4) from Fultala in Khulna. As Shakib was away from work, there were frequent family quarrels between them. Her husband Shakib hacked Chandni with a baton while she was sleeping at home around 1:30 am on Tuesday. Later, his relatives rescued him with serious injuries and took him to Narail District Hospital, where the doctor on duty in the emergency department declared him dead. Sadar police said that initially the incident was tried to continue as an 'accident'. However, due to the suspicion of the police officers, the real incident came out in the face of interrogation.
Inspector (Investigation) of Narail Sadar Police Station Ajay Kumar Kundu said, the family of the deceased claimed in the hospital that Chandni was injured after falling on the bed due to negligence. However, after going to the spot, we found inconsistencies between Alamat and Shakib's conversation, so we took him into custody and interrogated him. Later he confessed to killing his wife.
