In Dinajpur's Birganj anti-narcotics operation, 3 people were fined and jailed, 4 people were arrested including 1 other accused.
In the anti-narcotics campaign of Birganj police station, 3 people have been sentenced to 1 year imprisonment and fined for drug consumption. In the same operation, a convicted drug case accused was also arrested.
On Saturday, May 09 at 12:30 p.m., the police raided 3 houses of drug dealers at Golapganj intersection of Ward No. 02 of Atra Thanadhin Municipality.
Rashedul Islam (30), Md. Nahid Islam Sabuj (32) and Md. Rubel Islam Mamun (35) were caught red-handed while consuming drugs during the operation.
All their houses are in North Sujalpur College Mor area.
Later, the mobile court was conducted by Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Lands) Dipankar Barman, who sentenced each accused to 1 year imprisonment without labor and fined Rs.
On the other hand, the accused Inzamanul Haque Payal (32), who was convicted in a drug case, was arrested during the operation, the son of Aminul Haque of College Mor.
The arrested accused have been sent to jail by the learned court after due police process.
Additional Superintendent of Police, Birganj Circle, Shaon Kumar Sarkar and Officer-in-Charge Birganj Police Station, Saiful Islam led the regular anti-narcotics operation.
SI Jahangir Badsha Roni and other police officers and police members also participated in the operation.
