Mirpur Shah Ali shrine attacked and vandalized at night

Hazrat Shah Ali Bogdadi (R.H.) shrine located in Mirpur section number 1 of the capital was attacked around 9 pm yesterday. According to eyewitnesses, a group of Jamaat-e-Islami activists entered the shrine premises with sticks and shouted slogans.
Incident Details:
Eyewitnesses said that after a short showdown outside the shrine, the attackers entered the shrine chanting 'Naraye Takbeer'. At that time common people, devotees and Ashekans present at the shrine were lathi-charged. Especially those who were sleeping inside the shrine were also alleged to have been hit with sticks.
Current situation:
During the attack, there was widespread panic in the shrine area. The situation was brought under control when the law enforcement officers reached the spot after receiving information. However, how many people were injured in this incident or whether there was any permanent damage to the shrine,It is being investigated.
