
1 arrested along with illegal goods worth Tk 16 lakh in border operation of BGB

BGB raided Jessore border and seized illegal smuggled goods along with 1 accused.
On Friday (May 22), Jessore Battalion (49 BGB) conducted an anti-smuggling operation in the border area of Benapole BOP, Benapole ICP and Amrakhali Check Post. Indian 75 sarees, 01 blankets, 13 kg cumin seeds, 99 kg fuska, 15.5 kg raisins, 15 packets of sun petals, 108 food items, 45 Mango chutney, 4187 chocolates and 2212 cosmetics items were seized. The value of seized goods is Rs.15,95,045/-(Fifteen Lakhs Ninety Five Thousand Forty Five).
The arrested accused is Badruzzaman, son of deceased Waheed Ali of Bagharpara police station of Jessore district.
In this regard, Jessore Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Golam Mohammad Saiful Alam Khan, PSC said that for a long time intelligence activities and raids have been continued in the border area as per the special plan of BGB to arrest drug and smuggled goods. In continuation of this, Jessore Battalion is able to seize narcotics and various types of smuggled goods by conducting regular raids in the border areas under its responsibility. Such offensive activities of BGB will always continue on the border.
