A new committee of Bangladesh Women's Mukti Kendra, Dhaka City Branch has been formed with an oath to accelerate the struggle for equality.
On May 22, 2026, the 3rd Council and Committee of Dhaka City Branch was formed at the Central Office of Bangladesh Women's Liberation Center.
Central President Seema Dutt presided over and Dhaka City Branch General Secretary Toufika Dewan Lizar conducted the meeting. The council members expressed their opinions about the current status of women and children in the country, the need to build a strong women's movement, and their role in strengthening the organization.
In the President's speech, Seema Dutta said, "Women have played various roles in every just democratic movement including the country's freedom struggle. Women are playing an important role in the country's economy in various productive sectors including agriculture, housework, tea plantations, garments. However, the demands of equal wages and recognition as workers in cooperatives are still neglected. Working women are subjected to various harassments at the workplace just because they are women. Women and children are oppressed, tortured, Rape, organized rape is happening one after another. Criminals are getting away with the rule of law. Today, the fight for women's dignity has become the main task of women and men in this society I hope that the new leadership of Bangladesh Women's Liberation Center - Dhaka City will play an important role in taking over."
At the end of the council session, Sushmita Roy Supti was convened and a 13-member Dhaka City Committee was announced. The committee members are-
