Demand for the arrest of associates of Bank Dakat” S Alam: Sarwar Wadud Chowdhury
Sarwar Wadud Chowdhury, General Secretary and Spokesperson of the Anti-Corruption National Coordinating Committee, demanded the immediate arrest of Social Islami Bank AVP Mahfuz Alam, Manager MA Motaleb, Mostafa Kamal and Farooq Ahmed Litongong, accused of being associates of S Alam, who is discussed as a bank robber.
He made this demand in the pre-protest rally organized by the anti-corruption National Coordinating Committee in front of Motijheel City Center in the capital on Sunday (May 24) afternoon.
Sarwar Wadud Chowdhury said in the rally that about two hundred and thirty thousand crores of money smuggled by S. Alam should be recovered quickly and his associates working in various banks should be brought under the law. He complained and said that a complaint has been filed against Social Islami Bank AVP Mahfuz Alam, Manager MA Motaleb, Mostafa Kamal and Farooq Ahmed Litongong, accused of being one of S Alam's accomplices in the embezzlement of Tk 69 lakh from Hasina Akhter Chowdhury through fraud, but they are still on active duty at the Dhanmondi police station and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
He further said, “Despite complaints, no visible action against these persons is very worrying and questionable.
The rally called on the Prime Minister to reveal in public who is currently running the activities of S Alam Group, Summit Group and other accused organizations who are absconding from the rally.
