Rabindra Jayanti celebration organized by nature

A renowned organization of Bengali culture and Rabindra Sangeet in New York celebrated Rabindra Jayanti last Sunday, 17 April 2026, at 7:30 PM at Queen's Palace, Newswoodside. At the beginning, when the artistes were ready in two rows on the stage, music artist and teacher Anup Bara opened the program by lighting a mangal lamp on the invitation of reciter Mridul Ahmed. After lighting the mangal lamp, he thanked everyone. Then, in a short discussion session, Ratan Dhar beautifully brought up the issue of Rabindranath's meeting with the physicist Albert Einstein in Manhattan in 1930 and the discussion arising from the use of the letter 'M' four times in the headline of the New York Times news about this meeting. In their discussion, he briefly shed light on the concept of science, philosophy, religion and objective reality. Poet Hassanal Abdullah also highlighted the way Rabindranath was discussed in different countries in the light of his experience. Dr. Pradeep Ranjan Kar, former GS of Baksu, brave freedom fighter and one of the advisers of Awami League in the United States gave a brief speech. Khabar Ibn News.
After that, by paying homage to the poet and welcoming the audience present, the Prakriti artistes sang 'Hey Nutan Dekha Dik Arbar' in a united voice to mark the auspicious beginning. The second performance was the recitation of the poem 'Prithibi' by Mithun Ahmed, a reciter with a great voice. Then the singers enthralled by singing Joy Tava Vichitra Ananda O Kavi Joy Tomar with united voices. A total of 26 songs were performed in the entire event. Of these, 12 are in ensemble voice and 14 are in solo voice. The solo songs were performed by Nasima Shaheen, Dithi Hasnat, Maugandha Acharya, Karthik Chandra, Chandrika De Senjuti, Mukti Sarkar, Mini Qadir, Jolly Kar, Shamishta Mau, Rupali Ghosh, Josephine Mishti, Sonia Muttalib and Reza Rahman, respectively.

There was dancing accompanied by songs sung by two unison voices. These two songs are Biswaveenarabe Biswajan Mohiche and Jhoro-Jhoro Jhoro-Jhoro Jhore Color Shower. But as the dance was performed on the floor in front of two stages, the audience behind the third row failed to see it.
Apart from continuous singing and dancing from beginning to end, there was narration by Asim Saha and Nazneen Seeman. However, they select a few songs and highlight the context of those songs.
In this event Pinakpani Goswami accompanied on tabla, Masud Rahman on keyboard, Shahid Uddin on mandira. Veteran journalist Syed Mohammad Ullah, Nabendu Daa, Electricity Sarkar, educationist Gitali Talukdar, one of the advisors of United States Awami League and senior journalist Hakikul Islam Khokon, Office Secretary Engineer Mohammad Ali Siddiqui, Legal Affairs Secretary Advocate Mohammad Shah were present in the event among others. Bakhtir Ali, Education Affairs Secretary MA Karim Jahangir, Awami League Leader Aktar Hossain, Awami League Leader Manjur Chowdhury, New York State Awami League Vice President Sheikh Atiqul Islam, United States Women's Awami League Joint Secretary Rumana Akhtar, United States Sramik League General Secretary Jewel Ahmed, United States Chhatra League Former Vice President Shahidul Islam and many other political, social, cultural, professional, poets, etc. Literary, journalist, politician, teacher, human rights activist and artist-About 300 expatriates including the crew participated. The program ended at 11:30 pm with the National Anthem.
